Hello JG17,

I would like to verify this. In the meantime, can you please let me know the processor mode you have?

Hello freewill,

Please note that none of our graphics controllers supports Anti-aliasing. Our controllers support the features you mentioned before but I am afraid that this other one is not.

Hello Shakib,

Can you let us know what the graphics controller you have is? What is the processor model on your computer?

I would also like to know what troubleshooting steps have you tried so far. I appreciate the information you can provide.

Little but annoying problem with the HD4000

Hi,

i purchased two Samsung 770Z7E notebooks a few weeks ago for two friends of mine.

The 770Z7E supports two graphics adapter, the HD4000 integrated into the Intel Ivy Bridge mobile processor and a AMD Mobility Radeon 8870M

Everything works as expected but there is one issue which in my opinion could be related to the HD4000 because its the primary display adapter.

(The Mobility Radeon only kicks in for specific and graphic intense applications)

The problem occurs esspecially under Microsoft Word 2013.

If i try to point my mouse over a certain text in word 2013, it should show a box which displays the text and give me additional informations.

The issue now is that the box appears and disappears right after that, that happens so fast that i can`t see whats written in the box.

Sorry if i can`t describe it any better but i hope you can comprehend what i am talking about.

The reason why i assume that the problem might be related to the graphics driver/adapter is that if i try to reproduce the problem inside

a virtuial machine everything runs as it should.

I hope you have an idea what i can do to solve the problem. I installed the x64 graphic driver provided by samsung (9.17.10.2963).

If i try to install the latest driver version (9.18.10.3165) problems occur which seem to be related to the Mobility Radeon 8870M.

(Aero Glass will be disabled right after the systems boots)

Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you.

@ryanjrqwe: Sure I can give some advice here!  First and foremost, I would upgrade to the latest driver we have for your system here; Download Center

For the games you're trying to play, your system should be able to handle most of them just fine.  Are you talking about Dota* (original) or Dota2*?  The original should work just fine, not sure about Dota2* though.  WoW* is (even now) still really system intensive.  I would recommend upgrading to a newer CPU (which means an entirely new system for laptops) if you want to play that.  You have enough ram, theoretically - to run any of those games, but because your OS is 32-bit you are limited to the 4GB you have available.  Even if you were able to upgrade the ram in your system (more expensive to upgrade RAM for laptops) you'd still be constrained by your OS memory limits.  I would consider a 64-bit Windows* OS in the future for any new systems you purchase for gaming.

@Mimisan: Try updating to our latest driver (your version = 3071, ours = 3165); Download Center

However, that file being blocked is an important game file for The Sims 3*.  You might check that your anti-virus or the OS itself is not blocking this file from being accessed, as that will also cause your game to have issues.

@Oakman:  As a rule of thumb, I would never trust any "registry cleaning software".  It's not that most of them are malicious, but they often delete registry files they consider to be harmful or unnecessary to your system.  If you notice your computer acting funny in the coming weeks, back up your data and do an OS re-install, as registry cleaners function like a game of Jenga*.

You have our latest driver, but it's showing in the dxdiag that you only have a 1st generation (you in fact have a 2nd generation).  I would recommend doing a full uninstall of your graphics drivers (when uninstalling select the checkbox for deleting associated driver files).  Uninstall -> restart -> repeat until you are at a driver version listed as a Basic Microsoft* Graphics Driver.  This will mean all your drivers are fully uninstalled.  From there, install the latest version again (3062) from here; Download Center

Let me know how that goes!

Thanks everyone,

-Nic

Re: HD4000 incompatible with NVIDIA GTX 770M

Hello kiba208,

It is important to mention that both graphics controllers are different and will not provide their resources at the same time.

As soon as a PCIe card is connected to the system, the onboard graphics is going to be disabled. Since you are getting several problems when connecting the Nvidia card, I recommend you testing the computer without the NVidia graphics card and let us know if the onboard video works fine. Another good step is to confirm with the computer system manufacturer if the video card you are using is compatible with the unit.

I also recommend you installing the latest graphics driver we have available from our side at:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22842&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers

Hello Paco,

I am sorry to hear you are having these problems with the unit.

Based on your description, IT does not seem to be a problem with the Intel ® graphics controller or the Nvidia one since the unit Is not able to boot.

My best recommendation is to verify and double check the connections, make sure the power supply is working fine and if possible test other memory stick to discard any hardware issue. Another good step is to test another processor in the computer.

If after testing this troubleshooting steps issue persists, I recommend you contacting the motherboard system manufacturer so they provide more troubleshooting steps in order to fix the unit.

Hello I just wanted to chime in and report that I'm having the same issue as the other users in this thread.  I have the Asus Z87-Pro motherboard with a i7 4770K processor with a Asus MX279 monitor.  Now when the monitor is connected to VGA it will go into sleep state but once connected to HDMI monitor will not go into sleep state but will black the screen.  Please let me know what I can do to help so this issue can be fixed for all of us.

Details on driver services/processes (igfx*)?

It's been asked already, but I didn't find a detailed authoritative explanation. Could someone from Intel explain in detail the function of igfxpers.exe and igfxsrvc.exe? Do they need to run if this functionality is not needed?

Also, as I understand it, hkcmd.exe handles hotkeys. Is there a reason it still runs even with hotkeys disabled (most recent version of drivers)?

Problem with Open GL and Intel HD 4000 on Windows 8

Hi,

We have tested our 3D space planning program on a Surface Pro with Windows 8 Pro and we have an issue which seems to come from Intel HD 4000 driver.

We have a random crash using our app that only occurs with HD 4000. This app works with Java and JoGL with Open GL 1.2 or Open GL 2

We tried two drivers

Download Center

and

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22842&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%208%2C%2064-bit*&DownloadType=Drivers

and we have the same crsh with these two releases.

This is very annoying beacaue our customers have bought laptops with Intel 4000 cards.

Under is the bug report that we have in the Java Console :

Could you please tell us how we can fix it ?

Kind regards,

Mickael

HD3000 Windows 8 drivers BSOD on install

I'm having an issue installing Windows 8 drivers for HD3000 graphics on a Shuttle SH67H3. Each time I try to install the latest drivers, the PC crashes with a BSOD showing a 'VIDEO_TDR_FAILURE' message.

This happens with Windows 8 when installing the latest drivers (and the previous version) from Intel, the drivers provided by Shuttle and the drivers that are automatically installed from Microsoft. In each case, during the installation of the drivers, the PC crashes and gives the BSOD mentioned above.

This DOES NOT happen with either Windows 7, or Windows 8.1; in each of these cases, the drivers seem to install successfully.

The system specs are:

Shuttle SH67H3

Intel i5-2500K (HD3000 graphics)

16Gb RAM as 4x 4Gb sticks

Seagate 1Tb HDD

DVD drive

I've seen a number of others with the same experience, but nobody seems to have a solution - can anyone help?

Many thanks!

Andy

Re: Details on driver services/processes (igfx*)?

Hi wwwhy,

The two .exe's in question are part of running the Intel® Graphics Control Panel.  igfxpers.exe is for persistent settings, and igfxsrvc.exe is a necessary component for proper usage of the Intel® Graphics Control Panel (specifically for capability processing of display driver/hardware).

Persistence is an important process/feature, and makes it so that your display doesn't lose its resolution everytime you turn your monitor off (this is just one important reason).  igfxsrvc.exe is also critical to proper running of the driver as a whole - so you wouldn't want to shut off either of these processes.

hkcmd.exe does not only run hotkeys.  It is also responsible for associating connections from displays (hotplugging), and several docking/laptop processes.  I would not recommend cancelling this process either.

Hope this answers your questions!

Thanks,

-Nic

Hello LittleSilicon,

I am afraid to say that the graphics controllers is not related to Microsoft* office tools.

My best recommendation is to uninstall the software and reinstall it again. If you want to download the latest driver from our side, you can get it at:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=22842&lang=eng&OSVersion=Windows%207%20(64-bit)*&DownloadType=Drivers

It is also important to mention that since your computer comes with switchable graphics, the computer system manufacturer has developed custom drivers for your unit.

Intel 4000 HD - HDMI stopped working

Hi,

Up 'til Sunday I've been able to view content on my tv via my laptop's HDMI output with no problems.

I hooked everything up yesterday, and now cannot get the laptop to identify the TV, and the TV reports no signal.

I cannot get this to start working again. I've updated the driver to the latest version, done a system restore as far back as the day I got the laptop. Nothing makes a difference.

Can anyone suggest what has gone wrong here and how I can fix this please?

Thanks
