Please bear in mind that this product has reached its End of Interactive Support so Intel no longer provides interactive support for this product via telephone, chat or e-mail. Furthermore, the issue might be caused by the type of converter/adapter that is being used.

You may try adjusting the resolution of the system, or trying to set a custom resolution as 1184x666. Also update the system BIOS and video drivers installed. Also use the latest driver for that monitor you have installed.

You can also try by checking in the setup menu for your TV. Check the scaling options setting for the input connected to your system. Some displays have an internal setting to disable over scan.

If the issue persists, you may need to test using a direct connection and make sure with your laptop manufacturer, that 1080/720 is fully supported for your system.

LucidLogix is a third party software that is provided by the motherboard manufacturer in some systems when they are to support switchable graphics. The configuration and usage of this tool will depend on your system manufacturer.

In this case, check with Asus* to see if this software is supported for your computer and check if this is properly configured.

Thank You, and I've figured that issue out. My last question is what is the max temp for the iGPU, and is the temp the same or around the CPU temperature? Trying to find the most accurate way to read the temp iGPU temp.

Thanx!

We have just had a report of the same drawing issues with a PC with a Intel HD 4000 card but running Windows 7.

Any help on this matter would be much appreciated as it's now a number of clients experiencing this problem.

D2550 + WES7. 2gb + ssd. (rather nice box.)

I'm not sure quite what is going on, video playback seems worse on this than its predecessor, a D525.

Full HD mpeg2 appear accelerated (negligible CPU) on the latter, on this, they consume about 15% but more than half of that is kernel time. It is also jerkier, dropping frames.

mp4 appears to consume less cpu, but is much jerkier.

WMV has yet to be tested.

(More later, I have just started testing...)

Ideally, I'd like to be able to play 720p smoothly, continuously, 24 hours a day, 8 days a week.

Message was edited by: PON h.264   ( .mp4)  29.97 fps. Same contents (in house promotion video) ~ 3mbits = seems smooth, typically <15% of cpu. 1280x720 scaled up to 1920x1080 by WMP12 component. ~ 4mbits = noticably staggering (even with the "drop frames ... option turned off!) same cpu level. ~ 6mbits = ditto. Now it could be that 29.97 is not 30 and that I am somehow noticing the difference, but I doubt my eyes are that good. Yes, better than D525, No, why is it dropping stuff when it has so much overhead available.

Just saw Imagination technologies advertising this board, looks like the processor is on a par with an Atom and the graphics should be significantly better, oh and they've provided decent drivers for Linux. Only $150, why can't you go even half the way Intel? I think with a bit of ingenuity it should fit in the original case.

Re: Screen goes black during graphics driver install on Windows 8 Pro

I have tried using DVI,HDMI and VGA ports after installing the driver. It seems that when boot the computer up, only the VGA works and the screen is mostly pink. However, when I disable and then enable the graphics on the device manager, the DVI and HDMI ports work fine. The monitors I used were Philips 247E LHA and Philips 234EL. I didn't use and adapter or converter. And my driver version is 9.18.10.3165. I think there is a problem with the driver sequence when it detects for the ports connected. By disabling and enabling, it probably restarts this process and does it correctly. That's what I think is the problem. On a laptop with a core i5 w/ vpro technology, I tried using VGA to extend the display onto a monitor: Philips 234EL and the screen was pink. Anything white was pink and other colors were normal but with a pink shade on it.

As Yups says, Intel Motherboards/Graphics do not support Dual DVI, so there is no problem.

I can't send you graphic reports, because I now use a graphic card, a radeon 7750 club 3d, and now I can get the right solution, 2560*1600.

But I can confirm, that the problem was the same with a nother Dual DVI-D cable. No video adapters. We updated the Bios today, so I do not know which bios we used that day.

This ^ .

Sorry for keeping the thread quiet, I have been making modifications to my netbook software side since my last post. I know have almost perfect performance now in Linux .

Maybe it would be a good idea to compile a kernel that I use for others?

Display driver has stop responding and now recover issue Help!!!

Problem updating HD 4600 Drivers

iverok so ive spent the last 2 days trying to solve this problem with no improvements. I want to run 2 monitors off onboard graphics until the dedicated card I want is released. I installed windows 8 pro and the mobo screen and the welcome screen is on one monitor but as soon as it starts to load the start screen and windows that monitor loses its signal and the second monitor is the only one being detected. I thought I just needed to update the drivers so I did that and it worked, both monitors were being detected and I could use them, everything was good. BUT when I reboot or shut down when I start back up its like I never even installed the drivers. The device manager shows that I have the latest drivers but the monitor isn't detected after the welcome screen. I re run the installation application and the drivers work, both monitors are alive and well until I restart my computer, its driving me crazy trying to figure this out, ive re installed windows 8 countless times and I even tried windows 7 and had the same problem on all of them. ive started it up in safe mode and uninstalled the driver and reinstalled the driver, I read some thread that said updating the SSD firmware might help so I did that with no solution. I called Intel support and MSI support and they said they haven't seen this issue before... Help me please T_T

below are the system specs.

Video Stutters in Windows 8 MCE with 2x Speed Fast Forward (Herky Jerky)

I used to use the ">>" x2 fast forward speed feature often (for watching talking head news programs among others). I enable it by hitting pressing the fast forward button on my remote only once.    Video Playback is 2x'ish the speed, and audio is kept at the same normal pitch on at twice the speed.

In Windows 7 it worked perfectly, the audio sounds fine and the video moves smoothly at about 1.5x speed, not 2x speed. After upgrading to Windows 8 the audio sounds fine and plays smoothly but the video is jerky/stutters e.g., it seems to move at regular speed for few hundred milliseconds then it moves at 8x speed for a 100 milliseconds to catch back up to the audio.

Here is a Video example:

Video Stutters in Windows 8 with 2x speed Fast Forward - YouTube

There is a post about this with other Media Center users confirming they have the same problem.

http://www.thegreenbutton.tv/forums/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=4337

I tried the new July beta drivers I discovered on this XBMC Corruption thread.

http://communities.intel.com/message/198381#198381

The new drivers fixed XBMC video corruption.     My Media Center still is herky jerky when I use the speed watching feature.

Can you please have the engineers test this and tweak the drivers to work smoothly again?

Windows 7 playback is perfect, but Windows 8 is herky jerky.

I can provide some Video example clips for playback testing if you don't have access to tuner to add to Media Center.

Excellent, I'm glad I googled up this thread.  I'm user of both XBMC (for Vidoes) and Windows 8 x64 MediaCenter (for PVR)    The lines/mouse cursor corruption in XBMC is pretty annoying.   I'm downloading the Beta drivers now! (slowly)

So this "should" fix XBMC, but I'm also hoping it fixes the Stutter in Media Center x2 playback.   It was smooth in Windows7 but jerky in Windows 8.

Here is an example of the herky/jerky x2 video playback:

Are these problems at all related?   Sorry to hijack the thread here, but hopefully you can pass this along to the engineers as well!    I'll open a new thead if it's not related.

Anyway, here I go, I'll update my response here in a a few minutes with the results of the Beta driver for both XBMC and Media Center x2 playback.

UPDATE:

Driver Date: 6/11/2013

Driver Version: 9 12 10 3214

XBMC - Fixed!  (I think)

Media Center - No Change, x2 video playback is still herky jerky :-(

Hi abe,

these steps will help you.

  1. Plug in VGA and HDMI projector/TV
  2. Install latest Intel onboard Video driver (ie.
    Graphic 2000)
  3. Don’t shutdown as it asks you
  4. Select Clone screen to output both Monitor and
    projector/TV before Reboot
  5. After reboot, the Clone output mode will be lost
  6. Download DEVCON tools from microsoft for command
    prompt Device disable/enable
  7. C:\..\devcon disable =Display
  8. C:\..\devcon enable =Display
  9. To automate this, write a batch file of 7 and 8,
put it in windows startup and every time you reboot you will still have this
    Dual screen output.

Ok, tested last night. The BIOS was on the previous release and so I had not bothered as there looked like there was no point according to the release notes. When I did upgrade, windows reinstalled all the SATA devices. The IME driver was already as suggested. Blu-ray playback seems better, though as it was late, I did not get the chance to test it fully. Unfortunalty I had deleted my Formula 1 recording to test the HD freeview stutter. I will see if BBC HD has another sporting event to test on, otherwise I might have to wait until the next race at the end of the month. Thanks.

Thanks I understand, I only installed the beta drivers in hopes it would return my Win 8 system to it's former Win 7 smooth-perfection days.

The Windows 8 Media Center x2 herky jerky problem happens on the latest and previous official intel drivers too. It has been a problem since the very beginning of Windows 8 installation for me and others.

The problem is confirmed by others on TheGreenButton forum.   Windows 7 latest drivers = Great, Windows 8 latest drivers = herky jerky.   Please make sure the Intel devs have a chance to replicate the problem. Here is a test clip.

Dropbox - NBC Bay Area News at 11_KNTVDT_2013_08_06_22_58_00.wtv

Open with Media Center in Windows 8.   Press the fast forward button once.

Here is a side by side comparison I just made.  If you don't notice it right away, watch the bus, cars, train move.

NVidia Quadro 1000M (i7 Laptop on the left) vs Intel HD4000 (i7 desktop on the right)

Intel vs NVidia, Windows 8 Media Center Herky Jerky video x2 fast forward (speed watching) - YouTube

Remember this is at fast forward >>, audio pitch is reduced to sound normal.   The left is so smooth it looks natural even though it's x2 speed.   The right is herky/jerky, you'll notice it the most while panning or cars moving etc.
