Flickering textures and crash in "Minecraft" with VBOs? Intel HD Graphics (bay trail)

After a few minutes of gameplay minecraft starts having constant non-stop random flickering disappearing and reappearing blocks/chunks of terrain/textures but usually never on the GUI/HUD

And no matter what settings or options i play with. Enabling "VBOs" in the video options crashes the game outright to the desktop instantly with intel openGL 7.dll as the culpret

Is there a specific driver that doesn't crash with VBOs or have the flickering issue?

This only happens in the recent latest driver.

Where do I find the DX Diag reports?

These are all laptops so there is an LCD screen on them... but I don't use them. I only connect to a Benq W1070 DLP projector. The AMD based lappy (3 years old) output a perfect Full RGB signal and I think what is happening is the Intel HD4400 (3 day old laptop) is clipping the Whites / WTW and maybe Blacks / BTB ... the Whites are so hosed it is like staring at the sun, on screen.

I have tried using both RGB & YCbCr ... YCbCr is worse but RGB is still unwatchable in many scenes.

Also, I'm running the latest drivers.. updated today from the default drivers that came with the laptop... no difference.

Please tell me there is a fix and this high-end laptop is not a waste.

thanks!

Alex, would you please try the following:

  • Remove or uninstall all Intel Graphics drivers
  • Reboot your system
  • Try to do a dual display. (This may or may not work, it is going to depends on your system) I just want to know if this behavior is being cause by the driver or something else.

You can also try to install our previous Graphics driver and try to connect the 2nd display https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24392

Or try the latest version available on our site https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=24329&lang=eng&ProdId=3712

Since our drivers are generic drivers you may need to force the installation by performing manual procedure

Hi, Well would you believe it ? I tried. I tried to return it by returning under the 14 day distance selling regulations, and also because it was not as advertised, but the seller advised eBay he would not accept the return (I didn't think the seller could do that, or that eBay would accept it.

But even though the return went through the system as a return and eBay supplied a return label for me to print out, they then advised me Not to send it, as the seller had declined the return. They said in 14 days I could open a dispute.

I paid by credit card so I've reported it to them as well, and they say if eBay don't sort it, they can have a go, but only after 28 days have passed.

It's a same really, it's a good little laptop, but not to the spec I paid for, and the HD4000 is better (to direct x11) with the new Ivy bridge.

The model number is SVE1511K1EW

The specifications from few web pages indicate it is Intel® HD Graphics 3000.

Hi,

did anyone try if it does make a difference to connect the screen through mini displayport? Right now I have a HDMI <-> HDMI cable. If it helps I am ready to buy an adapter mini displayport <-> HDMI. My screen only has HDMI connection otherwise I would have tried HDMI <-> DVI already,

Best regards

The only workaround so far is to use a monitor that doesn't use 1080p as resolution. For example a 21:9 Ultrawide or a 16:10 model.

Hi,

Well, thats not entirely true. In the beginning of the thread someone switched to hdmi <-> dvi cable instead and this is also fixing the problem...

Yes, there was one person who reported that swichting his monitor connection to HDMI > DVI Adaptor fixed the problem. For all the others in the thread (including me) this didn't fix the issue. So mabye this guy has a certain notebook / motherboard which does respond differently in terms of monitor signals than ours. You may try your luck with any cable configuration available to you and hopefully it will help.

But again, the only workaround that can solve the issue guaranteed is to not use 1080p as your resolution in game. Which sucks, when you use a 1080p monitor.

@Intel: This might be a minor issue since it also doesn't sound too complicated. But still could you please fix this. It is horribly annoying especially since all the new games come with DX11, so the issue persits.

iris pro 5200 4k60 with up2414q driver issues

Hi,

My setup is:

-Gigabyte Brix pro i7 4770R

-Windows 7 64-bit

-Dell up2414q monitor connected with a DisplayPort cable

I would like to have the full resolution of 3840x2160 @ 60Hz. The display is 10-bit capable as well, I would like this to work but will settle for 8-bit.

With Intel HD graphic driver 10.18.10.3282 installed from the Gigabyte website:

-The monitor appears as two monitors

-Both tiles appear as 1920x2160 @ 60Hz

-I can run it in extended mode

-I tried using the Intel collage mode, but the first time it cause the BSOD, and the other times the driver just crashes when you hit apply

-If it Intel collage mode had worked I think this would have everything working like I want

With the newest Intel HD graphic drivers 15.36.7.64.3960 or the previous 15.36.3.64.3907

-The monitor appears as one 3840x2160 panel

-In the Intel control panel I can set it to 3840x2160 at 60Hz

-The monitor indicates it is receiving a 60Hz signal

-Moving the mouse around looks like 30Hz, much much less smooth than when running in extended mode under 10.18.10.3282

-Running Dxdiag.exe, and looking under display shows a resolution of 3840x2160 at 30Hz :-(

So to summarise, running the previous driver proves that the iris pro 5200 can drive the monitor at the full 3840x2160 @ 60Hz. I just can't get it to show it as one big screen, only two seperate monitors. And the newest drivers seem to have some weird issues.

Any help appreciated. It's a bit frustrating having such a monitor and not being able to use it as it was intended due to some software bug.

Thanks,

Deeksie

My computer started to Blue screen for no reason and soon after it said i needed to install  Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. - Display - Intel(R) HD Graphics 4000 but when i try to install it it always fails and then my graphics become unusable and my Nvidia GeForce GTX 675m doesnt show up. I tried to uninstall the Driver and reinstall the driver and it fixes it for a couple of days and then it goes back to crashing.

After disabling Wifi, I uninstalled the graphics driver, which got replaced by the basic graphics driver. I rebooted, and tried to connect my second screen, which didn't work. I enabled my wifi and I manually installed the graphics driver you had provided. At first I got a notification saying that the driver was already installed, and then my Intel HD Graphics 4000 came back. Although there is minor difference. My TV, instead of saying "No Signal" when you first switch to the HDMI port, now displays "Connecting." But still shows no picture and shoots around the "No Signal" box.
