Re: Where to find changelog for Intel HD drivers?

Thanks a lot for the info. Now I can check recent driver installations and changes.

One question, is there a document which details Issues Fixed for a range of driver versions such as from 3154 to 3958? If not, what is the best way to open up release notes on all drivers in between 3154 and 3958?

Thanks,

Roger

Sploosh,I had the same problem,it;s a compatibility problem and there 2 ways to fix it, go to C:/windows/system32/igfxCUIService.exe right click on it and send to desktop, right click the igfx shortcut on the desktop, select properties then compatibility and select your OS.Check the run this program in compatibility mode for:

the other way to do it is go to C:/windows/system32/igfxCUIService.exe right click on it and send to desktop right click the igfx shortcut on the desktop, select troubleshoot compatibility and follow the instruction.Hope this helps your problem as it did mine.

> If you already tested the graphics controller with an earlier driver version and latest, BIOS update, this might be compatibility issue with the EVGA DisplayPort MST hub.

I've now verified that this is not an EVGA hub issue - this issue is so annoying that I bought a Club 3D MST Hub, the exact same symptoms appear with it as with the EVGA hub.

One further observation - just for testing, I changed the 3rd monitor's resolution to 1920x1080, and the issues pretty much stopped (but not completely, some scenarios still happened every other day or so). When I changed the resolution back to the native 2560x1440, the issue came back. I can't work with the lower resolution, so this is not an long-term option.

Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks,

Magnus

Re: How do I turn off vsync for a program that lacks the option?

Is there a Intel Graphic Driver available to support three monitor spanning from a docking station (DV, DVI, VGA) on a HP EliteBook 8460p? Currently using Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8/8.1 32bit ver 15.28.22.3517

Hello,

The current driver listed in question (Intel® HD Graphics Driver for Windows* 7/8/8.1 32bit ver 15.28.22.3517) shows 3rd monitor although, does not allow the 3rd monitor for the spanning option. Is there a compatible driver that will allow for 3 monitor spanning?

Thank you,

Hello Allan. Thanks for responding to my post. However, you didn't answer either of my questions. I wasn't asking how to leave the vsync settings up to the application.

I'm asking how to turn vsync off for all programs, regardless of their settings. Why is this option not available in the control panel? Is it really that difficult to implement? These are questions that I see a lot of people asking, and so far everyone from Intel just says "change it to 'Application Settings' and disable it in the application."

It also seems like people with Intel like to hit-and-run these forum posts, never answering follow up questions, so I won't be surprised if you don't answer.

1600 x 1200 @ 85Hz on VGA "exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity"?

Dear Great Knowledgeable Ones,

I have a peculiar issue attempting to run an external CRT monitor on VGA at 1600x1200@85Hz with an integrated HD4200 on Win8.1 x64. The monitor's capabilities appear to be correctly recognised but Windows will not countenance running it higher than 1280x1024. Having (eventually) found the Intel custom resolutions programme I can now force 1440x1050@75Hz or 1600x1200@60Hz (the latter obviously unworkable on a CRT) perfectly happily, but attempting to enter 1600x1200 @ 85Hz or 75Hz generates the error "The custom resolution exceeds the maximum bandwidth capacity."

This is obviously strange since not only was this perfectly normal circa 18 years ago, but this also worked fine on an older laptop with win7 x64 and i5 3210M (with Intel graphics). I do not know where to look to find out what is bandwidth-limited and why, and it would be odd if newer graphics processors couldn't cope with this. Nothing in the specifications on Toshiba's website warns of it that I could find; indeed, the only thing Toshiba says about VGA is that there is one - a clear slur to the quite literally billions of us running 15 year old monitors on a daily basis.

Sadly I cannot revert to using my old laptop since it was lost when some friendly recent arrivals from overseas accidentally entered through the window of my flat, obviously believing it to be their own, and accidentally picked up my laptop on the way out when I asked of their intentions. Clearly the incident was so mortally embarrassing that they couldn't face returning it, hence the short upgrade cycle and therefore why I would like this to work.

Many thanks,

Simon

...and before you ask, those drivers are the newest that Toshiba has on their website and Windows didn't want to update anything when attempting to install drivers from a .zip as per here:

Intel HD 4600 Graphics with HDMI 1.4 Stereoscopic Full HD 3D on Glasses-Free 3D display

Hello, I just purchased a Dell with the Intel HD 4600 Graphics and the NVidia Quadro K1100m graphics.  I am trying to connect to an autostereoscopic Glasses-Free 3D display that functions on the HDMI 1.4 spec for Full High Definition 3D (FHD3D) using a screen resolution of 1920x2205 at 30 Hz and feeding in two 1920x1080 images in an over-under format with a 45 pixel gap between them.  I have it working in 3D with my workstation utilizing the NVidia Quadro FX 5800 card and now want to get it on the laptop.  We are a reseller for the displays and they are really great for 3D graphics.

I bought a laptop with the Quadro card specifically for this, but so far I can only seem to get the Intel HD card to control connection to the external 3d monitor through HDMI, even with the optimus technology and setting the NVidia card as the preferred card and associating it with my application.  I want to either 1.) enable the NVidia adapter to control the external monitor or 2.) output properly formatted video with the Intel HD 4600 adapter.

I saw that there may be some support for HDMI 1.4 stereoscopic specifications for the Intel HD 4600 through the inTru technology.  Our monitor takes FHD3D at 30 Hz rather than 24 Hz.  Should it be possible to utilize the Intel HD 4600 Graphics to get Full High Definition 3D to work at 1920x2205 resolution @ 30Hz?  Thank you.

Bloack Ops 2 was running pretty smooth (40+ FPS) at minimum settings and a low resolution. Will the HD 4600 IGP be able to run AW too (ofc at the lowest settings)?

Will the Intel HD 4600 graphics chipset support a monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1080 on a DisplayPort connection?

Hello, I am looking for a list of resolutions supported by the Intel HD 4600 graphics chipset.  Specifically, I need to know with certainty that the chipset will support a monitor with a native resolution of 2560x1080, on a DisplayPort connection.  Is there any webpage or documentation with a list of supported resolutions?

Thanks, Allan!

I tried to install the 64-bit driver you linked to. The first time it failed. The second time it also failed but gave the error message about my operating system not being supported. Is this the correct driver for me?

Hi Robert,

I am having the same problem.  Any update on the upgrade to the driver?  If the update is a bit far off, would it be possible to try out the beta/alpha version of the driver?

Thanks.

Hi Sylvia,

I found something that didn't get translated to the new laptop and just got it fixed.  The answer is YES, the Intel HD Graphics is able to output in a format that can drive our Glasses-Free 3D display using the Full High Definition 3D HDMI specification.  Thanks for your support.  www.markresources.com

Asrock Z77 Extreme 3, latest BIOS

i7 3770

Windows 8.1 x64

Secure boot, UEFI mode, CSM disabled (using UEFI GOP mode due to dedicated R9 280X with fully UEFI GOP compatible BIOS)

All latest drivers

If I disable CSM - my TV is not appearing on my HDMI audio playback devices. When I enable it - everything is OK.

If I recall - this wasn't happening on Windows 7.

I see this (same issue) was already been mentioned:

HD4000 no HMDI Audio with UEFI GOP

Any chance of fixing this issue?

That surprises me, the system requirements made CoD:AW look like a game that would only play on mid-range dedicated graphics cards. Goes to show that system requirements are BS Kudos to you! Out of curiosity, are you using low-voltage (1.35V) RAM?

Thank you Allan. The ability to force vsync off is a feature that I see a lot of people wanting, and it shouldn't be too difficult to implement. I've been reading posts of people asking for this for years, and the only response from anybody from Intel is "There is no option to force vsync off. You need to turn it off in the application." We all know this, and it's a problem. Fix it.
