Re: update: hd4600 with vg248qe no support for 144hz video refresh rate

@ dh2, Following is the information on 144Hz support that should help you configure your system.

When using DVI:

Intel HD Graphics 4600 Does not support Dual DVI natively (however DP to Dual DVI Active Dongle might work- but not supported ) and Max Pixel Clock is supported  on Single Channel DVI is 165Mhz.

So max on DVI at 1920 x 1080 is 60p Hz.

HDMI :

Intel HD Graphics 4600 Max Pixel Clock supported  on HDMI is 300Mhz. So max on HDMI  at 1920 x 1080  is 60p, 85p,100p, 120pHz.

Note : 1920 x 1080 (144p Hz) is not supported on HDMI as it Exceeds the max Pixel Clock supported by our Intel HW ( 300Mhz)

Driver will enable and support 300Mhz based on HDMI Panel’s (HDMI Registration ID supplied by panel )

When using  DispalyPort :

Intel HD Graphics 4600 Max Pixel Clock supported on DisplayPort Various based on SKU - ( Based on CD Clock of the SKU – Which is OEM setting via System bios.)

So based on what the BIOS has enabled, at 1920 x 1080,  60p, 85p,100p, 120p,144pHz are supported.

We tested based on your configuration and found the following:

With DisplayPort, working fine on DisplayPort Interface  ,Which means we are able to see and apply 1920 x1080 @ 144Hz  without any issue..

@ SonicMaster, Sylvia is needing the model number of the ASUS system (i.e. UX31A). That info is not available in the linked reports. Could you please provide the model number?

Thanks

Thanks for joining the graphics community.

I am sorry to hear that have had problems updating Intel Graphics Driver.

That message indicates that your computer manufacturer does not allow the installation of generic Intel video drives. You are required to install drivers from your computer manufacturer, however, you may try forcing the installation of Intel generic drivers by performing manual procedure, see here for instructions:

http://support.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-022355.htm

Select your operating system version and download the zip version of the video driver:

@ IceDarkness, Do you see the TV as a display in the Windows Display settings? If you press the Windows + P key does the TV appear in the list? Also, what model is the TV?

Thanks

Thanks for joining the graphics community.

I understand you have an issue with audio through HDMI monitor.

You may need to select proper audio output device.

a) Press the ‘Windows + D’ key on the keyboard.

b) Right Click the Volume icon and select the Playback Devices, set HDMI monitor to the default device.

Thanks for joining the graphics community.

I understand you are experiencing an issue with Intel® HD Graphics 5100 and Outlook 2013.

I would like to know if you already tried latest beta driver available on our site, this is version 3652

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23985&lang=eng&ProdId=3722

Also, does this problem occur with drivers provided by the board or computer manufacturer? If so, which driver versions numbers?

Are you using straight cables? This means no video cables adapters.

Thanks.

Allan.

Thanks for joining the graphics community.

I understand you are trying to install video drivers from Lenovo but the installation does not continue.

The driver version from Lenovo is version 3496; this driver appears to be customized for your computer model.

Please try installing our generic version 3621, this is available at:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProdId=3719

If you still have problems installing our generic driver, please try performing manual installation, see below for installation instructions:

@ dmit.bit, we are investigating the issue you reported and will update this thread as needed. Thanks for finding this issue.

Also, do you have the Half Life 2 update installed (via Steam)?

Thanks

Re: Forced 1080i in some DX11 games is causing screen flicker.

I also discovered this problem while playing civ v on dx11. However, the weird thing is in one of the first times this happened, it reverted back to 1080p. I have no idea why. Since then it has continuously been forced into 1080i and flickered. I have found this to be the case with multiple other games on steam as well, but only when running on my second monitor on full screen.

Some basic system info:

comp- (i7 4710mq 2.50ghz, intel hd 4600, nvidia gtx 765m 2gb (both running latest drivers as of 7/24), windows 8.1 64 bit, 16 gb ram)

monitor - (asus VS247H-P 24in, 1080p 60hz led connected via hdmi)

I understand original LCD screen supported 1024*768 and you have replaced it for new screen capable of 1400*1050.

Please bear in mind, supported resolutions will depend on the actual graphics chipset and the graphics VBIOS (video BIOS). If you are not able to obtain 1400*1050 is because the Vbios on your computer has been locked and will not display higher than 1024*768.

In this case, Intel recommends updating to the latest generic video drivers:

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProdId=2301

For any other type of graphics configuration at BIOS level or video BIOS you need to contact your computer manufacturer.

But I reported "This laptop is dual-booting with Lubuntu 14.04, and that display driver works fine, which confirms that the Intel 945 hardware supports 1400x1050, and also confirms that the BIOS is not restricting the supported display modes."

Since Lubuntu will give me 1400x1050 with the same graphics chipset and VBIOS, doesn't that indicate clearly that those are not where the problem lies?
